Counseling, Grooming and Mentoring young girls irrespective of their ages (catch them young) on every issues of life. After-all the question a ‘5 Year Old’ will ask about issues ranging from fashion, relationship etc, might throw you off balance. Our main objective is to propel and direct these ‘belles’ on the right path of life.
A lot of times, young girls tend to be misdirected by the message the environment or society passes on these days. Gone were the days when the means to livelihood matters and not the outcome, right now the society applauds every ‘rich’ person and don’t care how the wealth was gotten.
Consequently, we have a lot of young women with this attitude of excessive or misdirected desires and emotions. We want to be here as the ‘caution – signs’ to these young ladies. Hoping and working towards making our world a better place for healthier people both in mind, body and soul.
We are sending out calls to every Mother, Sister, Aunt, Friend and all women to join us in this campaign. We should be our Sisters’ keeper.
We lay emphasis on vulnerable young girls going through the journey of their live unguided and unguarded with/in lives’ hurdles. They begin at a very young age to actively deal with the pressing issues of Sex, Sexuality and rape. Lack of guidance puts girls on the front line of unwanted pregnancies and other related issues which destroys their life’s dreams and completely destabilizes the family structure. Girls gain self-esteem (or more) from knowledge itself and access to knowledge. They need Pre-information before they get involved.
Many young girls who have babies out of wedlock are stigmatized and are left to their fate. Most times things turn very ugly; they drop out of schools and often never get another opportunity at school, ending up frustrated and the (products of these unwanted pregnancies) children as well end up the ‘hoodlums’ of the society. A saying goes that you train a girl child, you train a whole Nation.
Women in general are the newborn child’s primary caregivers in most if not all societies. The paid nanny, the indulgent grandmother or an older sister are most likely to watch over the child during its three critical years. From the womb through its early formative years the baby has more direct contact with women. It is during this time that the words unspoken, messages and expectation of the care-giving woman affect and determine the child’s future most. A physically abused and psychologically traumatized child at this time is likely to vent his or her anger on society in later life.
On the other hand, a child that is surrounded by the warm embrace of loving women caregivers will most likely spread that love in his or her future dealings with others as the child grows up.
We’ve seen and heard this in the lives of Ben Carson and George Washington (1732 – 1799) to name but a few. George Washington said, “All I am, I owe to my mother… I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education from her”.
These girls need to be stale to raise their young ones. The mistake has already been made, we can’t pretend they’re no longer part of the society. We must help them, because they need us now more than ever. Its high time we stopped ignoring them.
